Tokyo based arts institute 3331 ARTS CHIYODA have offered me a month long residency in August this year. I am currenly researching funding options. 3331 ARTS CHIYODA is based in the electronics and manga hub of Akihabara at the heart of Tokyo where a large population of cosplay and Otaku enthusiasts can be found. I plan to  cut the local residents hair using my Matsuzaki scissors inside a portable mobile ‘salon’ and have conversations (with the help of an interpretor) that explore how virtual realities effect our real world identity. This action will align my exploration for a mythical character with cosplay enthusiasm as I roam the streets and countryside of Japan.
